Formed from the merger of Halifax and Bank of Scotland, HBOS plc is the United Kingdom's largest mortgage and savings provider. With assets of over £400 billion, it has 22 million customers and a relationship with two out of every five households in the UK.
After merging in 2001, HBOS was challenged with inconsistent data structures and systems used prior to the merge. In order to manage procurement expenditure, HBOS had to rationalize and manage suppliers, and identify opportunities to reduce spending through consolidated purchasing.
Kalido integrated, stored and managed data from the disparate HBOS systems. This produced consolidated management information that could easily be analyzed, providing a clear view of group-wide procurement activity for the first time. HBOS can now identify and manage cost-saving initiatives in procurement, while improving negotiation on new and existing contracts.
