Royal Philips Electronics of the Netherlands is one of the world's largest electronics companies. Its Consumer Electronics division (Philips CE) holds the number one spot in the European market.
Local operational units and business units at Philips CE had previously handled their own data warehousing, using locally selected tools. This resulted to duplication of data, IT costs, and the proliferation of interfaces between disparate systems. The existing framework was inefficient because it could not evolve quickly or cost-effectively in response to changing business needs.
Kalido acted as a central service organization for all of Philips corporate data, enabling an end-to-end business intelligence solution for the organization. In addition to its high flexibility Kalido, driven by business meta data, was quick to implement, and cost-effective to maintain.
