Kalido Universal Information Director leverages the power of the business-model driven Kalido data warehouse to automate the creation of BI tool metadata. Under the control of a BI designer or data architect, Universal Information Director transforms warehouse metadata to BI metadata. The user interface guides the designer through a progressive series of steps, presented in the vocabulary of the business user.

It ensures business definitions are consistent across reports and reduces the chance of manual errors, which reduces the risk, cost and effort associated with creating and maintaining BI tool metadata with the warehouse.
Universal Information Director promotes effective change management by opening a previously exported model, initiating a comparison between the current warehouse business model and the exported model, detecting and reporting changes to information that could break supported reporting applications.
